I have to admit, the headline of the press release caught my eye: What to do if you’ve got hot flashes, mood swings and $5,000. My in box is regularly jammed with news about trips, tours and travel products. But a menopausal tour? Why not! And to Tuscany, no less.
This supposed quick fix for women is a first-class-trip of 11 days of wine, food, art and laughter. It’s all orchestrated by a Tuscan native, Serenella Leoni, who has designed a unique and intimate tour especially for menopausal women. Described as The Tuscany Effect, the goal is “to experience the vivid Tuscan lifestyle of passion, beauty, sensuality and the savoring of each moment.”
The changes women claim they experience after the trip include renewed interest in sex; weight loss; new lease on life; mid-life career change; and the sudden desire to become an artist.
Led by Italian native and current San Francisco resident Serenella Leoni, the Toscana Mia tour is limited to 16 participants.
