Fake sex drugs seized from Andheri
In a raid conducted at a courier office in Andheri (East), the state Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) confiscated fake sex drugs worth lakh of rupees. These drugs, which included tablets as well as oral jelly, were kept in boxes and were to be exported illegally to European countries including the UK.
Suhas Chaudhari, joint commissioner FDA, said, “Kamagra oral jelly and tablets are originally manufactured by Ajanta Pharma, a reputed pharmaceutical company. The company officials were informed that the spurious drugs were being manufactured and they alerted the police as well as the FDA.”
According to Jayant Yadav, the drug inspector who conducted the raid, these tablets are similar to ‘Viagra’ which work as a sex potent drugs. “The cost of the counterfeit drugs in the international market is around Rs5.6 lakh. The original drugs manufactured by the company are sold on a prescription given by a psychologist, urologist or an endocrinologist.”
Two people, Ravi Gupta and Irfan, have been arrested in the case.
